I created the L2EIRIN 3D cinematic for the launch of a new Lineage II server. So the video had to feel like a large story, not a regular announcement. The project brought together ambition, fatigue, pride, and the desire to make something stronger.
The story is based on a clash between two sides against the background of a military conflict. At the same time, several key characters lead the story. Among them are a warrior, an archer, an armored hero, dragons, and siege elements. The location looks like a place after a long war.
It was important to me to show not just a battle, but a world where a lot has already happened. That is why the battlefield does not look like a clean arena. There is fog, destruction, arrows, weapons, stone, smoke, and fallen warriors. Siege structures and heavy military dirt also appear in the frame.
Visually, the 3D cinematic is built around cold and slightly faded light. In addition, I used dense haze and cinematic close-ups. The camera often stays close to the characters. This makes the gaze, weapons, armor, silhouette, and readiness for battle easier to read.
In this project, detail was one of the main tasks. A large-scale cinematic can easily fall apart if the frame contains only a “beautiful background” and a few characters. So I tried to fill the scene in a way that made it feel alive and like it had survived a real battle.
Special attention went into the environment: ruined elements, siege structures, stone walls, weapons, arrows, smoke, fog, and the overall dirt of a military space. None of this had to draw attention separately, but together it created the feeling of a heavy Lineage II world where every object has its place.
The characters also had to work as more than just models in the frame. It was important to me that each of them had their own silhouette, role, and visual strength: a heavy armored warrior, a fast archer, a dragon as a symbol of threat and scale, and a group of heroes moving toward a major clash.
The location was built as a space after a long conflict. Fog, ruins, siege elements, arrows, weapons, and fallen warriors help create the feeling that the viewer is not entering the beginning of the story, but its most tense moment.
The key characters had to be instantly readable by silhouette and role. Armor, weapons, poses, movement, and close-up shots help make them not just participants in the scene, but the faces of the project and carriers of its mood.
The main mood of the video is dark epicness. Cold light, haze, slight blur, dragons in the sky, and heavy military details work together to convey the feeling of a Lineage II world consumed by war.
