L2EIGIS — Lineage II 3D promo video.

This 3D promo video based on Lineage II was created for L2EIGIS. At the heart of the story is a VOIP mechanic that allows party members to receive a rally message in real time. The VOIP object appears in every scene, gradually connecting different characters, events, and locations.

I worked on the project for several months, creating and refining environments, characters, animation, visual effects, graphics, sound, and scene direction. I wanted it to feel less like a conventional game promo and more like a short cinematic story with its own progression, rhythm, and finale.

Every scene has a purpose. The locations are rooted in the world of Lineage II and the unique features of L2EIGIS, while the characters do not disappear after their individual moments — all of them return in the final scene, where the separate storylines finally converge at the same castle.

The scale grows throughout the film: from individual characters and smaller events to a finale featuring more than 300 characters attacking the castle from both the ground and the air.

Production

Every road leads to one siege

While creating this 3D promo video based on Lineage II, it was important to me that the scenes never felt like a collection of disconnected beautiful shots. Each one shows a different part of the world, but the recurring VOIP call gradually reveals that every character is moving toward the same objective.

Some scenes contain direct references to L2EIGIS. For example, the chess sequence takes place in Rune — the chessboard is not simply a visual detail, but a reference to an actual gameplay mechanic available on the server.

Other moments were created entirely for the film. In one scene, the characters fight a fictional boss named Ben, whose appearance was redesigned and recolored in black for the project. After receiving the call, one of the characters suddenly ends the fight with a powerful attack, severing the boss’s arm.

The finale brings everything together. More than 300 characters advance on the castle from three directions, part of the army approaches on wyverns, defenders take their positions along the walls, and familiar characters from the previous scenes gather beside the General — the main character introduced at the very beginning of the film.

01

Locations

Familiar Lineage II locations are filled with references to the server. Rune and its chess scene are just one example.

02

The call

The VOIP message appears in every scene, gradually bringing all the characters together for the siege.

03

Finale

More than 300 characters, three attack routes, wyverns, castle defenders, and every hero from the previous scenes in one final shot.
