I created the SkinsMonkey 3D promo video for a CS2 skin trading service. In this project, I was interested in combining the mood of two iconic Counter-Strike maps — Dust and Mirage. That is why the scene is built around a Middle Eastern market, dry climate, sand, weapons, and recognizable architecture.
The video is based on the story of a player who wants to replace worn-out weapons with a more valuable item. To do this, he comes to a busy market and uses SkinsMonkey to trade cheap skins for the skin he needs.
It was important to me that the video would not look like a regular website ad. That is why the market works as a living 3D scene: with characters, crates, trading spots, police, small details, and the feeling of movement beyond the frame.
As a result, it became a large-scale pre-roll for SkinsMonkey. It combines the atmosphere of CS2, the idea of skin trading, and cinematic presentation into a complete 3D promo video.
I recreated the entire market from scratch, using CS2 references as a guide. I wanted the scene to feel not just like a decoration, but like a living space: with many objects, different characters, small details, and the feeling that life in this place continues beyond the frame.
This is one of the most detailed videos I have created in my work. The market had to be not just built, but made alive: with architecture, objects, trading spots, small details, and the feeling that this place exists not only inside the frame, but also beyond it.
I worked separately on the characters so the scene would not feel like an empty decoration. Each of them needed a small role: someone is trading, someone is walking by, someone is watching. These details are almost never explained directly, but they are exactly what creates the feeling of a living market.
The timing of the video was limited, so the entire scope of the world had to be shown quickly and precisely. The camera, movement, accents, and transition to skin trading had to work like a showcase of possibilities: to show the scale of the scene, the Counter-Strike mood, and the idea of SkinsMonkey without unnecessary words.
